Hello!

And welcome to Wine Country Rattery!

I am A small Breeder Located in Sonoma County.

I'm 15 years old.

I breed Healthy Rats, with GREAT personalities , and beautiful coloring.

I have had rats my whole life. They were my first pet, and wonderful animals.

I hope to share my love of rats with many many people.

I just recently started this rattery after purchasing a couple rats from Petco and having them all be in poor health. Two out of three died, and the third (Alfie, a little beige hooded boy) was treated for a serious respiratory infection. After all those sick rats and tears when one passed away I didnt know what to do. When I realized pet stores were the only place to get rats around here I decided to start a rattery and provide an alternative for people who are tired of getting sick and unhealthy rats.

MY RATS ARE NOT FEEDER RATS!

I breed rats for pets only.

Rats are intelligent loving animals who can become part of the family if given proper care and attention.

At this point, half of my rats come from breeders, and the others are adopted from pet store. Aside from Alfie, all the pet store rats come from small local pet shops where they care for their animals well. I only breed the healthiest rats with great temperments. All my breeders are carefully selected. If I have any doubts about their temperment or health, I hold off on pairing them until I'm sure they are ready. I will not breed females under 5 months of age and until they reach an appropriate size. With males it depends on the individual.
