December 2, 2002 - There is no update...

WeaverKin
Updated the World of Darkness -> Matrix stuff a bit, now the character sheet should work for everyone, and I changed one small thing in the rules.
I promised a Splinter Cell review, but I'm holding it off until I get a bit further in the game (curse you Sam Fisher and your lack of aiming skills...). MechAssault, however, will have a finished review soon.
November 28, 2002 - The Puck... of DOOM!

Malkamar
Hello my non-fans! How was yer thanksgiving? Well anyway lately I picked up a new hobby... air hockey. unfortunatly this means DANGER for everyone else as I hit the puck a lil' too hard... So far my wound list includes one bruised manhood, one bleeding forehead, countless sore fingers, one bleeding ear, a few slaps to the chin..... it goes on... I play a little hard... All that ever happens to me is the occasional sore pinkie due to how I hold the paddle...
In other news I curently hold second place on my local DDR machine for Nearly 130 Doubles Oni. Such a good day...

Shikyo
Maxx Unlimited makes my legs cry. Fear my mastery of the obvious.

Live in Kingston, NY? Renting Wild Arms 3 from Blockbuster? Then you, my friend, sincerely suck.
November 23, 2002 - More new comics

Shikyo
Yes, yes, there's the comics.
Mouse, link, way out, all that.

WeaverKin
No incoherent babbling from me today. Just that both MechAssault and Splinter Cell reviews are forthcoming. Now, I have people to harass about a few things...

Oh, and put here strictly for Shikyo's reference: Open/create new image. Increase color depth to 16 million. Paste in the images that tend to degrade. Reduce to 256 when finished. Continue editing. Thank you.
November 20, 2002 - MSN Instant Messenger 5 sucks, and so do you.

WeaverKin
I was using MSNIM 4.6 (rarely, but I did use it), and all was well. Then, recently, it wouldn't let me sign on until I upgraded to the new version 5.0. So I did. And it immediately went straight downhill from there. After not signing on for quite some time, I closed it. It responded in kind by locking up and crashing my computer. I reinstalled it and tried again. Same damn thing. Then I try turning my firewall off. Suddenly, it works. For some reason, it tries to get around ZoneAlarm, rather than triggering it and "asking" for permission like it should. I'd think it was the firewall, as the previous version did it right, except for the small fact that ALL OTHER INTERNET ACCESSING PROGRAMS I'VE EVER FUCKING USED manage to do it right. I tried taking an old one off the list and running it again, it went as normal, I tried another new program just for the hell of it (an FTP client), it asked persmission as normal too. So, it's definitely MSN 5. Anyway, it naturally fails to get through, causing the comp. to slow down vastly, and subsequently lock up.
You see, what needs to be done, is to take the people MS assigned to take job positions at FASA ('cause given the goodness of MechWarrior 4, MW4: Mercenaries, and MechAssault, they obviously know their programming), and reassign a few of the programmers to help teach the monkeys working on MSN (and a few on IE6... it has error popups pretty frequently but never actually crashes (the error boxes can just be shoved to the side and ignored until it comes time to close the browser)... now, if you eliminate the error detection (something which would normally be a bad idea), you have *gasp* a perfectly stable and much less annoying product) how to code (hell, they may need to teach 'em how to fucking type), and all would be well.
Getting back to the point, if you want to use both MSNIM 5 and a decent firewall (read: Black Ice Defender users need not apply), don't try. Use AIM. Use YIM. In short, use a messenger that doesn't suck. (First person to say that this is solely the fault of Windows and suggest that I switch to a Mac or the Linux OS gets a violent, bloody beating. Linux isn't for everyone. Windows isn't as poorly programmed as you'd like to think. I'd love to see someone come up with a OS that tries to be compatible with everything and have it be perfectly stable, but that's not gonna happen. And until I can play my favorite games and run my favorite programs on a Mac or Linux machine without the aid of crappy emulators that crash more often than the Windows you complain about so much, I'm not even going to think about switching.)

*ahem* Now that I've pissed off users of just about anything other than what I use while simultaneously ranting and making very little sense, I think I'm done. Oh yeah... for the actual update: I have no actual update. Thank you.
November 19, 2002 - Stuff.

WeaverKin
I've decided the next DWI I'll be doing, though I more or less ignored the poll results, as too few people responded. (Hey. You. That's right, you. I know you're there. Stop just looking at the main page and/or the comics and look at the other stuff. It doesn't all suck...) Besides, it was a song I heard after the poll was created, so it wouldn't have mattered anyway. I'm leaving the poll up though, to decide the one I do after this one is finished. Perhaps by then I'll have more than 50 or so people a month visiting.
Oh, and a MechAssault review is forthcoming, as soon as I can put the controller down (mmm... Warhammer Missiles...)

Shikyo
I'M LAZY! GET LOST!
November 14, 2002 - Inspiration... or something...

Shikyo
Yea, surprising for a guy who just hit a dry spell, but I have just been....

*cheesy trumpet music and some bright-colored background appears*

INSPIRED!

.....And don't worry, he'll be blasted soon.....

Kayla blasts everyone....sooner or later....

November 13, 2002 - You all are hereby commanded...

WeaverKin
...to go here: Hamlet- the Manga. Starring characters from Slayers. This is either incredible genius and incredibly funny, or just incredibly funny. Either way, go read it now. Go. You're still here. Go. GOOOOOO!

For those who stuck around, you either have no taste, didn't stay and in fact are back from reading a bit, or just like to read the newspost in it's entirity. In any case, there are more updates forthcoming. I am assured Shikyo is working on more comics, I am getting together something of a guest comic for him, and everyone else is... something.

On a completely unrelated (they always are) note, my local arcade upgraded from a DDR 3rd Mix machine to a shiny new MAX 2. With DDR MAX (US) coming to the PS2, I was happy. Now I have to choose: keep playing MAX at home in a frenzy to unlock Drop the Bomb [System SF Mix], or buy a tent and camp in the arcade so that I actually have a chance at getting on the MAX 2 machine. Decisions, decisions...

Malkamar
This is when I point out that I've been playing on a MAX2 almost the whole time I've played...
I guess I shouldn't point that out to him......
He might kill me......
I am willing to help him choose good songs... and give tips on how to wield that crowbar right to get at the machine... stupid machine hogs....
November 10, 2002 - The useless one speaks!

Shikyo
Yea, been a while, but I've been out of it lately. Comics might be updated even more randomly, as I'm run dry of ideas/material/stuff to do, short of literally stealing crap from good sites like Bob and George, or 8-Bit Theater. ...... Not like I haven't already though.

On another note, I've finally gotten Romance of the Three Kingdoms 7, and personally, I like the game, might make a mini-reveiw later.
November 9, 2002 - Well, at least he's happy...

Malkamar
This is a news post! You will be back to your normal crap shortly!
I went to my local DDR tourny and I came out fine! I got 2nd in basic! ... Of course, that almost makes up for my bad freestyle (dead last, just what I wanted!). Anyway, a picture of me (pic 10, on the right (of the picture, not the pad)) has finaly made its way online... consider that proof that I DO in fact exist and I DID in fact enter....
Also just to note Basic is NOT my skill level anymore... I am passing those catas like CRAZY! So I am like 6 songs away from doing every song on the machine on Maniac (it's a MAX2, btw).
November 8, 2002 - Service outages are not fun

WeaverKin
My cable provider has been fluctuating between various states of non-workingness this past week, making it either flat-out impossible or, at best, really irritating to do anything involving having an internet connection.

Some Netscape users seem to be upset with me about something... (read the small text above... well, if you use Netscape, it won't be small, but anyway...) The most intelligent arguement (coming in just ahead of "NN > IE", oh yes, that makes me want to switch right now...) was something along the lines of "IE is crap 'cause it's made by M$". First, I hate the abbreviation "M$", it doesn't make you look half as witty as you think it does. Second, if you think it's bad 'cause it's a Microsoft product, wrap your mind around this: Netscape is made by the same folks who brought you the ever-unstable and memory-hogging AOL browser. Yeah, that's right, you're using a non-AIM AOL product. Oh, and the main reason that I don't like Netscape is it doesn't like to work with the CSS I use to format my pages. IF there is something that I am doing wrong in that vein though, please let me know, and I'll be more than happy to fix it, I'm not above the possibility that I've done something wrong.

Twinburner
Legend of Legaia 2: Duel Saga so far seems worth the price. Nice fight system, decent story, good graphics. I'll keep you posted as I get further in it.
November 1, 2002 - Into the dark... black... forest...

WeaverKin
Oooh... the DDR MAX... it is bliss... review posted for it, but you probably can guess what I'll say about it already... now, I'll be going back to making my legs hate me... ONI MODE! I WILL BEAT YOU!

Malkamar
Hey my adoring fans!
I have been writing lots of reviews for you and I just found a minor snafu in my little plan to review all my games... I try my games before I buy them. Always! So I don't own a single game I dislike!!! So all my reviews will have a positve tilt unless I do some reviews over some rentals. That, or some friends games. So I am going to try my best to give you a negative review to go with all the positive ones I've already written.....

Also on another note I have started doing freestyle Dance Dance Revolution... I started doing it as a joke and was informed I was actually pretty good... Anybody out there have any tips!?!? I need some right about now! Seeing how my local DDR tourny is on Nov. 2, tips would be helpful right about now...
October 29, 2002 - Hmm... newsposts two days in a row. Now, wait for the brimstone rain...

WeaverKin
DDR MAX for PS2 comes out today... well, it does many places, I have to wait until tomorrow... must play Drop the Bomb [System SF Mix]...

EDIT: Ok, so I assumed since the release date was today, that that meant it was gonna be available today... I apparently was wrong, it debuts tomorrow.

Malkamar
Hello all! I finaly have some content for all of you! That's right! The only non-producing member of the site has something... I wrote a reveiw for Animal Crossing.
I plan on writing reviews for older games as well... That is if you count Dreamcast as old... Hell i might even go older then that!
October 28, 2002 - Lé request, Robotech, SC: Ghost, and GGXX

Shikyo
I'm looking for info on Kitsune legend/myth/lore/whathaveyou, and am having a bitch of a time finding anything useful, so....basically I need peoples to look around and help me get it if they can x.x;

Twinburner
ROBOTECH FANS! YOUR GAME HAS ARRIVED!

Robotech: Battlecry is the first game I've seen to properly catch the feel of the series. I love this game and would suggest it to anyone who was the fan of the series or who is looking for a good action game with a twist. Now get your gun pod and go torch some battle pods!

WeaverKin
Ah, all the cheesiness of a bad advertisment, but with none of the payment for the space. Awww, isn't it cute?

Now that I've finally seen the StarCraft: Ghost trailer, I've gone from a casual interest to wanting this game, to REALLY wanting this game. Looks great, too bad the release is probably at least 6 months away. You can download the trailer at StarCraft Legacy.
And just to throw this in here, Guilty Gear XX movies.

UPDATE: Massive amount of updating done, bios updated, links updated, news fully restructured, more comics, fanfic by Twinburner, Who's on first, What's on second...... wait... *falls asleep on the keyboard*

I'm ALLLLIIIIVVVVEEE"
I just wanted to post here to let all five of our readers know that the up-to-now inputless Malkamar is ALIVE!!!!
MWhahahahahaha!
October 24, 2002 - The Blinx, it hurts...

WeaverKin
If you own an XBox and like platformer-type games, Blinx will not disappoint you. Hell, the Record power alone is great fun. It can be a bit frustrating in spots, but never so much so that you'll want to stop playing (unless of course, you happen to suck...). Graphics are great, sound and music are nothing to scream about, but they get the job done. My only real complaints are that you don't have an inventory, so you can only have one sweeper at any time and you have to re-purchase old sweepers if you want them back; secondly, there are no movies (or storytelling of any kind, for that matter) in-between the opening CG and the end of the game. Granted, it's not a deep game to start with, but would a short movie every 2-3 sectors be too much to ask?
[ 8/10: Great ]

That said, the final boss area is unkind... for those who haven't been introduced to it, first you have to face the four hardest bosses in the game, in a row, with no break to refill controls, ammo, or retries inbetween... I haven't yet seen the final boss in action because of this, but I'm told he can use the same time controls that you do. All in all, this must be where the difficulty of this game comes to a head, and that's the way it should be.
October 15, 2002 - Lines you will won't see anywhere but FLCL:

WeaverKin
"... and then that horn turned into this robot dummy which is now living in my house, and it's all because you hit me with your moped!" -Naota
I think that says it all, really. The creator of FLCL apparently knows how to harness the power of pure WTF, and uses it full force. Fragile minds beware.
October 7, 2002 - Temperatures rising, no way out, goin' too far, can't stop now

WeaverKin
New poll up (only vote ONCE), new DWI, and new... other... stuff... or something.
October 1, 2002 - Beware of falling HTML

WeaverKin
Busy, busy. Got a section for AMV reviews up now. And now, *collapses* ...
September 26, 2002 - PainŠ 2002 by Kayla

Shikyo
Yes, more comics for your "I want to bleach my eyes" pleasure.

WeaverKin
I'm sure he meant to say "reading"... yeah, that's it......
Hey, look, there's some new crap by Twinburner in the RPG section... ah, well, probably not worth your time... *SMACK* ... ouch.
September 24, 2002 - Mmmm... pure concentrated evil.

WeaverKin
Well, many updates all around the site over the past few days, nothing special.
DDREI's Tournamix 2 is now over, and clearly, I didn't win. Not entering will do that to ya. Heaven deserved it's victory, but I can't help but wonder why Solid Gold wasn't even in the top 3, it was professional quality all the way, and yet, the Metal Gear Solid 2 intro made it, with a distracting background video and sometimes out-of-sync steps... by no means crap, but not deserving of the #2 spot at any rate. ... You're waiting for me to get to a point? ... I HAVE NO POINT! *dies*
September 21, 2002 - It's official... up is down, black is white, etc. etc...

WeaverKin
Yuna... with... guns... AHHHHHHHHH! *runs screaming into distance*
September 19, 2002 - Mmmmm... mechy goodness...

WeaverKin
And Agetec sayeth: "There shall be Armored Core 3!" And there was. And it was good. Many graphical improvements and various tweaks, (either having a high defense is much more useful than before, or damage is lower... either way, tanks are now more feasable than before) plus the addition of core-based orbit weapons. If you're a fan of the series or 'mech games in general, you shall pick this up immediately!
[ 9/10: Near perfect ]
September 4, 2002 - Great, now I'll never get that damn song out of my head...

WeaverKin
New comics by Shikyo. You must look, for they are shiny and new. As for the title, you get no explanation, just this link: Big Mog's site
The AMV in question should be the first in the list, done to "The Pitch". That is all.
August 29, 2002 - Wha?? Someone knows this site is here?
There is a guest comic for Shikyo. Even though I haven't yet submitted this site due to a severe lack of content (99% my fault, but still the truth)... The walls have eyes...

I fear for the state of the world...
- Shikyo
August 26, 2002 - There are many spiders in my window...
...if only they weren't all alive, with the annoying tendency to crawl across my legs in the middle of the night. My like for the creatures extends to fantasy ONLY... in real life, they are something to be killed on sight. Unless it's one of those yellow orb dealies, they may live. Fear the power of my boredom.
As much as I realize it is a beta test, and stuff like this has to be done, I still hate character wipes. *sniff* They were all so young, so full of life... ah well... for the time, I'm using a Progen Explorer for something different. (Name: Cypher for those interested.) As a side note, I hate the Honor. I also hate capitial ship sized aliens. For the record, high level mobs at gates, inside gravity wells, and just beyond nav points (making them hard to see and avoid ahead of time) are also on my list of things that make me want to hurt somebody. If none of that made sense, see the post below.
UPDATE: DWI files that are in progress changed. Man, It's So Loud in Here off the list, however, I'll be working on a bunch of songs in the near future. (So I just might have something worthwhile up by the end of the year... hey, it's possible!)
- WeaverKin
August 5, 2002 - Red Dragons are not friendly
No, I speak not of the fire-breathing kind, but of the laser-weilding Intimidate-using pain-dealing unfriendly pirate ships in Earth and Beyond, Westwood's upcoming spacefaring MMORPG. I really can't say what I like so much about it, must be a combination of factors... all I know is that this game is better in beta condition than many are in final condition. (Currently a level 51 Jenquai Warrior named GreatTeacherLargo, for those who also got into the beta test.) So far, I highly recommend this game, it is better than EverQuest on so many levels (unless you don't like high-technology universes and are more for the medieval fantasy, then by all means, go back to your little ranger/wizard/etc... I'll take my heavy lasers, cloaking, and teleportation over a bow and spells any day of the week. *waits patiently to be flamed off the face of the planet*).
And now, the actual update news: another comic by Shikyo. ... Yeah, that's all. It has something to do with the fact that I'm lazy and forgetful. And all 8 of you who currently view this page should know that by now... wait, don't leave #4! It'll get better, really! COME BACK! ... nuts.
For those having slow loading times at this site, you're not alone, and all the sites on this provider's server(s) seem to have the same problem. Tech support assures me that this is only temporary.
- WeaverKin
June 25, 2002 - Don't blame me, blame Soda
And to think I used to shun the XBox... silly me. To explain the lack of updates, you can chalk it up to WAY too much JSRF (well, and general apathy and all, but mostly JSRF).
- WeaverKin
June 16, 2002 - Pointless ramblings and more
The title pretty much says it all. That, and I'm fighting Xenosaga addiction, even though I haven't played it yet. *mutters something about March 2003 and wanders off*
- WeaverKin
June 7, 2002 - *sad excuse for a header goes here*
FAQ started, some campaign stuff uploaded, much editing, etc. ... Nothing more to say...
- WeaverKin
June 4, 2002 - I'm working, I'm working... honest!
Ever so slowly, but I am working... if only I could actually FIND most of my RPG stuff, this would go much faster... in other news, Mothman Prophecies comes out on DVD today. Fans of psychological thrillers are missing out on a lot if they miss this one (ignore the rather cheesy title, it speaks very little of the movie itself).
- WeaverKin
May 31, 2002 - Another file
Uploaded a custom edit (whereby "custom edit" I mean "chopped in half and faded out due to my lack of 'real' editing skills") of Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Daft Punk) along with a Dance With Intensity step-file, select image, and background image. Currently working on Man, It's So Loud in Here (They Might Be Giants) and Crawling in the Dark (Hoobastank), will upload when done, if that ever happens. If anyone wants to provide a select image and/or background image for Man, It's So Loud in Here or Crawling in the Dark, let me know.
- WeaverKin
May 25, 2002 - New stuffs
Updated with a rant and a bunch of stuff by Shikyo. Who knows when this site will be complete, but until then, enjoy what little is here.
- WeaverKin
May 14, 2002 - I'm working on two measly pages... woooo...
I've begun working on the download and RPG pages. Go on, try to care. Try I say!
-WeaverKin
May 11, 2002 - This is the start of something... well, it's a start anyway.
The links page is up... that's it... the rest will follow as quickly as I can finish them, which could be from days to months, depending on my ever-changing laziness.
-WeaverKin
