Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992 to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia Cyrus. She is most known as Miley but her birth name is Destiny Hope. Her name Miley originated when her father began calling her Smiley since she was a baby. Later, Smiley was shortened to Miley. Miley Cyrus began singing since she could remember. She would "escape from the nanny" during her father's concerts, grab the microphone, and start singing in front of the audience. Once Billy Ray was performing with some very important people when Miley escaped again. She ran up on stage as usual and started singing "Hound Dog" by Elvis Presely. As she was passed on from person to person on stage one man handed her back to Billy Ray and said, "She has got some talent." Billy Ray starred on a show called Doc where Miley guest starred several times. Miley also made a small starring in the movie "Big Fish". It was not until she was around eleven, however that she started to audition for Disney. At first, Miley auditioned for the role of "Lilly" which is now played ny Emily Osment. The producers told her that she should audition for the role of "Hannah Montana". So she did. When she walked into the room, she was the only eleven-year-old there. The part called for a fifteen-year-old girl. The producers, however were skeptical about letting her move on to the next audition. She begged her mother to put make-up on her and make her look much older than she was to go to the next audition. Still the producers thought that she was too young. This did not let this stop headstrong Miley. She kept sending tapes in and asked for more and more auditions. Finally the producers asked for her to fly back to Los Angeles for another audition. Suceedingly, Miley got the part of Hannah Montana. The soundtrack has gone platinum. And "Hannah" merchendise has been booming across the country. Miley has been called the "Next Hilary Duff". The "Hannah Montana 2", a two-disc version also featuring Miley's album, was number one on the Billboard charts and beat out Miley's idol Kelly Clarkson. Currently the "Hannah Montana Movie" is in Co-Production. The show has also been nominated and Emmy Award for "Most Oustanding Children's Show"
