Save SubiacoÕs Station St Markets

JOIN OUR DEMONSTRATION MARCH

 SATURDAY 20 OCTOBER

WhatÕs happening:

-       Did you know that our community and city is about to lose most of SubiacoÕs Station St Markets.

-       Station St Markets is one of the only traditional markets left in WA and is truly busy and popular. It is the soul and living heart of what has always made Subiaco so loved and so popular and itÕs lifestyle so unique.

-       It is a key part of the cultural soul of our city Š and itÕs scheduled to be demolished at the start of November.

-       Local Council is already supporting our action and your support is badly needed. If we apply enough pressure we can overturn this decision.

Somebody should have done something before now:

YOU can be that somebody now.

What YOU can do:

Here is a fun and friendly plan for action: we can stop this.

-       First copy this notice and give it to everyone you can think of: friends, colleagues, neighbours, notice boards.  Anyone and anywhere you can think of:  the houses along your street, to your friends, at your local school, or anywhere else.

-       The demonstration march will assemble at Station St Markets at 11.30. At 12 noon we will march through the streets of Subiaco to Rankin Gardens (Cnr Rokeby & Hamersley Roads) where we will be addressed by the Mayor of Subiaco and other key speakers.

-       Show your support by trying to wear something yellow: yellow shirt, a yellow ribbon, a yellow headband Š whatever you like.

Have fun, be friendly and enjoy yourself, letting those that have the power to stop this cultural vandalism know in no uncertain terms that you and everyone around you wonÕt stand for this shameless, uncaring and insensitive destruction. This is a family friendly action: bring you kids, friends, dogs and your grandparents and have fun!!  The media are coming, so wear your best smile.
