Crossroads 2003 And Beyond

Season Three marked a new direction for Crossroads 2003 & Beyond. With the conclusion of Season Two came the conclusion of all storylines that were set up during the 2003 television series. The Jenny Roberts saga & the Ethan Black saga were over. Season Two saw the departure of a handful of characters that had served their purpose and season three saw several permanent characters join and a host of other seasonal characters.

Season Three changed the direction of Crossroads, but only slightly. The season kept the Dynasty/Dallas feel that 2003 set up. However, the storylines and the soap now featured the town of Kings Oak more. The action didn't just centred around Crossroads but also King's Oak and the lives of people around the town.

Perhaps the biggest story of Season Three (and some would argue the biggest story of the continuation so far) was the return and subsequent death of Susie Samson. Returning with a child she claimed was Jimmy Samson's, Susie was soon locking horns with Angel in a bitter custody battle, but her poison didn't stop there. On the 13th of January 2004 (one year after the first televised Mark 3 episode) Susie Samson was gunned down in reception by a mystery assailant - and she had so many enemies, it could have been any member of the community! The quest to find the killer launched our first spin-off "The Kings Beat" which was set in and around the King's Oak police station, though many characters crossed over as the investigation continued.
